Melanie Jesse is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in grief and loss and counseling the aging population. Melanie graduated from MacMurray College with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and went on to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and earned a master’s degree in Social Work. Her work history began over 12 years ago as a child welfare specialist. Melanie worked in schools through an internship as she was working on her graduate degree. Since then she has worked as a supervisor in child welfare and as a social worker in the hospice setting. Melanie has worked in private practice as a therapist in both an office and community setting.
Melanie has a passion for working with the elderly population. She has experience addressing many issues facing those in nursing home settings, such as the loss of independence, grief and loss, anxiety, and depression. Melanie states that “Each client is unique and has a story to tell. I feel honored when they trust me enough to tell me those stories.”
Melanie lives in Pawnee, IL with her husband and son.
