Cyndie KiefferLicensed Clinical Social Worker

    Cyndie Kieffer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois & Indiana who combined her passion for helping people with her love of dogs. Cyndie is a Certified Professional Practitioner of Animal Assisted Play Therapy™ through the International Institute of Animal Assisted Play Therapy-R.  Cyndie enjoys helping others share their animal’s unique talents through involvement with Pet Partners as an evaluator, instructor and also a handler. She has authored several articles about animal assisted interventions.  Additionally, she has spoken at many national, as well as state-level, conferences on the topic of animal assisted interventions.

    Cyndie graduated with her Masters in Social Work from University of Southern Indiana and has 20 years of experience in a variety of social work settings including advocating for people with intellectual disabilities, providing counseling for children and working in a hospice setting. She draws from a variety of treatment models including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy and Animal-Assisted Play Therapyä (play is important for everyone in every life stage).

    Cyndie and her husband enjoy life with their dogs (two of whom often accompany Cyndie while working), making wine from fruits grown in their orchard and traveling
