My Biography

Tonia Short is a graduate of Saint Louis University. She has a master’s degree in Social Work and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois and Missouri. She has over 15 years of experience working in hospice and palliative care. Tonia has a strong passion for working with people at end of life as well as providing grief counseling for surviving family members. Outside of hospice Tonia has also worked extensively with people suffering from ALS. Tonia lives in Illinois with her family and 4 dogs.

My approach is client – centered. I work with clients to define their desired outcomes while creating a space where clients are comfortable to share any issues and concerns. I use a variety of Cognitive Behavioral, Brief Solution Focused, Strengths Based therapies.
