My approach to counseling is holistic, humanistic, and person-centered. I believe my job is to accept and support clients where they are. I believe all humans are worthy of the love and support needed to reach their full potential. I use a variety of counseling modalities to fit each client’s individual needs including CBT, mindfulness, DBT skills, client-centered, solution-focused, and narrative therapies. I especially enjoy using art in counseling to help clients relax in session, to improve self-esteem through mastery of a skill, to foster social connections, and to promote a sense of well-being through creative expression. Additionally, as an occupational therapy assistant, I have specialized training in adapting tasks and environments to meet the needs of clients with emotional, physical, or sensory challenges.
